PHOTOS: More talents should be nurtured for Ochestra Music – Prof. J. H. Nketia

Africa’s foremost ethnomusicologist, Prof. J. H. Nketia, has urged music professionals to develop more talents to take up orchestra as part of their social life.

According to him, when such orchestra lovers are trained, it can also lead to suitable local music for public pleasure.

The ‘Accra Symphony Orchestra’ held a day’s workshop to sensitize stakeholders in the music fraternity to unfold its vision to create a unique musical movement that fuses the best orchestral traditions globally.

The group which is the brain child of the founder of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), Dr. Mensah Otabil and the late Pan-African music genius Nana Danso Abiam aims to provide quality international standard classical music for music lovers.

The group performs gospel compositions, as well secular music of aesthetic value.
