The former campaign manager for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) , Peter Mac Many says the then ruling party National Democratic Congress (NDC) did not compile results of their own at the last elections like the NPP did.
Speaking during the Regional Delegates Congress of the NPP in Takoradi under the theme sustaining power for a prosperous future “; he said it was not by design that he declared 80 percent of results the party compiled during the elections at midnight.
He said per the strategies put in place the party realized that if even 20 percent of the remaining results were given to the NDC , they will not win.
He also asked the President to invoke article 278 of the 1992 constitution to set up a commission of enquiry to look into the recent rumpus at the Electoral Commission saying he backs the call by CFI and IDEG for a probe into the EC ‘ structure and operations.
The Minister of Railways and Minister of Tourism Joe Ghartey and Catherine Afeku asked duty bearers and government appointees not t neglect the rank and file of the party in the name of asking for their certificates and appointment before they attend to them.
The National Youth Organiser Sammy Awuku asked for members of NDC to remain calm as it is time for the members of the ruling patty to get jobs to do and travel on soccer competitions as cheer leaders like the NDC did to their members whilst in power.
