Takoradi Metropolis with the street name “Don One” for a robbery attack.
“Don One” and another alleged robber Isaac Boadu, currently in the grips of the police, in the early hours of yesterday robbed a mother and daughter off 1,845 cedis, two phones and two hand bags.
The two victims, Juliana Essel and her daughter who had just gained admission to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology were on their way to finalize the admission process when they were attacked at Bakaekyir a suburb of Sekondi.
According to the mother the two who were wearing masks threatened them with a knife, collected their items and fled on an unregistered motorbike.
The Sekondi Chief Fisherman Nana Kofi Essoun who was then passing by saw the two fleeing with Juliana and her daughter screaming for help.
He then decided to chase the two robbers.
The Chief Fisherman pursed the two robbers to Kweikuma where he lost their trail.
He saw then again and started another hot pursuit until the two abandoned their motorbike.
Nana Essoun explained to Skyy news that he then took the motorbike to the Sekondi landing beach where it was identified as belonging to one of the robbers.
The identified robber was later arrested at his hideout. Upon interrogation he admitted committing the crime.
