Gas Explosion: Net 2 TV Camera man dies filming accident

It has emerged that the person who fell to his death from the flyover at Atomic Junction during the gas explosion Saturday night, was a camera man at Net 2 Television.

It is unclear what caused the deceased, Mohammed Ashley to fall from the overpass dying on the spot.

Management of Ken City Media operators of Net 2 Television, visited the morgue Monday to identify the body.

The massive gas explosion recorded seven (7) deaths with one hundred and thirty-two (132) persons injured out of which 64 have been treated and discharged.

According to a statement signed by the Minister of Information, Mustapha Hamid, 68 injured persons including a fire officer at the Police Hospital are still receiving treatment with two others in critical condition at the Intensive Care Unit of the 37 Military Hospital.

Personnel of the National Fire Service had it tough fighting the fire following the gas station explosion which got thousands of people running helter skelter for their lives in the very busy vicinity. It took them about 10 hours to douse the fire.
