Anas’ petition a nullity – Lawyer Bentum

Charles Bentum, Lawyer for some 14 indicted judges cited in the alleged corruption scandal , says the case adduced against his clients should be regarded by the public as a nullity.

“You cannot put something on nothing and let it stand” he said, adding that if the private investigative firm, Tiger Eye PI is not incorporated in law, it had no basis in legal terms to carry out such work.

Speaking in an interview with Accra-based Citi FM, Mr. Bentum said the public must not confuse the two together, since the only company recognized by law and owned by ace investigative Journalist is the company referred to as the Tiger Eye PI Comany Ltd.

“One exist and the other does not” therefore it[Tiger Eye PI] had no legal backing to have done what it did, he challenged.

Meanwhile, counsel for Anas Aremeyaw Anas, Kissi Adjabeng says except Mr. Martin Amidu is deliberately diverting attention from the substantive case, what the former Attorney General is doing is “ludicrous”.

“I cannot come to any other conclusion except that he’s doing someone’s bidding, to divert attention. it doesn’t sound like him. He should not create problems where there is none.”
