Audio : Vice President To Return To Work By Tuesday Says MP For Sekondi

The member of Parliament for Sekondi , Andrew EgyaPa Mercer has revealed that the Vice President of Ghana , Dr Mahmoud Bawumia will return to work by Tuesday February 1, 2018.
Speaking on Empire Fm’s flagship program Western Today hosted by , Kwame Malcolm the Sekondi Mp said the vice president broke down from fatigue after the stress of campaign in the last elections and his work as vice president for the past year of the rule of the New Patriotic Party(NPP) and he needed to take a medical leave outside the country; “…the vice president has been everywhere right from campaign till now and he broke down from fatigue …..; he is not in any hospital and he is taking a rest after a normal medical review..” Andrew Egya Pa Mercer added.
The member of Sekondi adder that the deputy minister of roads Anthony Karbo who was also out of the country took the opportunity to visit the Vice President  and confirmed he was never hospitalized.
Andrew Egya Pa Mercer added that the communication on the illness of the Vice President when it broke was not too detailed and may have given room to the needless speculations.
Reacting to the MP’s comments, the western regional secretary Joseph Nelson said the minority National Democratic Congress (NDC) has acted responsibly by wishing the vice president well in a public statement contrary to what the New Patriotic Party(NPP) did when the late President John Evans Atta Mills was taken ill. He added that the then opposition took to mischief making all sorts of derogatory allusions about the health of the late President Atta Mills.
He wondered how to reconcile the statement of the  Assin North MP Kennedy Agyapong who said  he was in the same hospital the Vice President was admitted with that of the Sekondi MP ,claiming he was never admitted nor hospitalized?
They however both added that there need to be some disclosure on the health of the Executive in public circles to forestall any speculations.
