Representatives of 23 constituencies from the Central Region and 26 constituencies of the Western Regional New Patriotic Party(NPP) have affirmed their support for Freddie Blay as the right choice for the National Chairman position in the upcoming National Delegates Conference in Koforidua July 6,2018.
Addressing a cross section of the media in Takoradi, the Western Regional Secretary of the NPP, Charles Bissue stated that the move to support Freddie Blay for the Chairmanship position, John Boadu for the General Secretary, Sammy Awuku for the National Organiser position and Dominic Kwesi Eduah for the National Youth organiser position is not meant to spite any of the other contestants to impute their inefficiency in steering the affairs of the party but the chosen have the capacity to maintain political power in the hands of the ruling NPP in the next elections when voted in power at the upcoming conference in Koforidua this weekend.
He further explained that the chosen candidates have exhibited their loyalty and popularity at the grassroots level hence their choice and therefore calling on other regions to do same to solidify the party’s base to keep President Nana Akufo Addo ‘s government in power in the next general elections in 2020.
The Central Regional Chairman of the NPP, Robert Kutin ;,the Western Regional Chairman Ndede Siahand member of Parliament of Gomoa East in the Central Region Kojo Asomaning all took occasion to explain the rational for the affirmation of support for the four.
Also present were the Minister of Railways Development and MP for Ketan Essikadu constituency in the Western Region, Joe Ghartey, the deputy Health Minister and MP for Sefwi Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai, Kingsley Aboagye Gyedu .
